The new owner...

Sometimes changes are for good and sometimes it is a must...

Maybe I am not so fresh anymore, maybe I need a long break and maybe I just need more time for preparing the picks or maybe I am tired of chasing my luck. However I`ve been thinking of it for a long time, but as I am having less and less time now I`ve decided to sell the whole group of RakasBets.com websites to another person.

The history and the crisis

RakasBets.com started with an idea to spread my own thoughts on the internet just for fun, giving people the choices I bet and getting them profit from the bookmakers in 2005. I`ve started with the free picks service for the whole 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 seasons. As the number of visitors grew, I`ve got more and more loyal clients (in fact I had couple of them until the end of this season) I`ve thought of an idea to sell my tips, sell my predictions. During the first paid picks season I`ve earned over 500 units in ~9 months and in the 2008/2009 season I`ve added over 460 units, so that made nearly 1000 units in 2 years and that was really perfect, having only 2 of those months "in red". The things changed a lot in 2009/2010. As I had more activities - I had less time for analysis, I`ve spent a little bit less time on analyzing numbers, but I`ve got even more connections during that season. The question is - did it help me? No way. The crisis in the whole world gave a big effect on sports and on the whole betting. I used to take smaller leagues, I used to take bigger leagues, but now the results are influenced a lot by the personal needs. All those talks about fixed matches in Italy in football and the police in the whole Europe investigating the cases are not made up and maybe people get all those talks for a reason and of course everything in football comes out a lot faster than in basketball (however the football in the whole world is a lot bigger than basketball...) I have only the examples in Lithuanian basketball where a lot of matches are influenced by the individuals, they decide the total, they decide the handicap, etc. Is this happening in Turkey, Italy, Germany, Russia or Greece or anywhere else? Tell me why not? The salaries got a lot smaller, the players don`t get the money they used to, the players got younger and looking for easy money. Of course we could doubt the players decide everything, but we don`t need them to decide - there are a lot of other ways as the owners of the clubs or referees that could be enough to reach bigger goals even in the bigger leagues.
Of course I don`t want to defend or excuse myself only by talking about crisis and fixed matches - it was only me who made the wrong choices and picked the games I should`ve left, but what is done is done and the fact is that crisis touched our part of business for sure.

The changes have to be made

I would like to thank all of my supporters, all of my clients, people who sent me thankful letters and kept betting in good or bad times. I hope a lot of you made good profit in the first seasons and I hope you`'ve really had profit with me as after all I`ve made over 1900 units during RakasBets.com existence. I would also like to sorry for all the losses you`ve experienced with me and I hope neither of you lost your normal lives due to bigger or smaller losses. I don`t want to stop too late as the last season showed the changes have to be made in case of trying to gain the success and freshness always brings good results and I have no doubts that the changes at RakasBets.com will bring new clients, members that will be making good profit out of young and fresh head, good advices and well analyzed matches.

The new owner

I will try to shortly describe the situation and the future plans (I am sure the new owner will describe everything detailed when he gets the control of the web). The new owner of the website is a close friend of mine and we`ve been betting together for some time now. He is younger than me, but everything he does is just betting and he is quite good at all sports in fact, but mainly focuses on basketball just like me. He has the stability, he knows when to stop, he is reliable and he knows when enough is enough. We`ve been advising each other and changing our thoughts for couple of years and I have to admit he has been better than me lately and when that happens - you have to stop and think why. Still I am sure there will be a lot of things he will have to learn while advising and placing picks on the web, but as the deal has been made some time ago, he has been learning everything from the inside of our webpage in the last months. The existing members will be getting picks if there is anything good this season, but there are not so many games left and I will try to at least make the end of the season profitable. The new owner will be changing something in the web, but I guess everything will be made during the summer mainly. What will be the new policy in the web depends on him - free or paid picks, the price, the number of picks, etc. He will be getting my database - your emails to contact potential customers and I hope he will find a way to make you richer. The websites are now being transferred to a new server provider as well.

To sum up - the situation made me take some changes and that made me sell the webpage and concentrate on the other activities and I highly believe the changes will be only for good as the web is in good hands now (it reminds me the start of my betting in 2005).
